My name is Paddy Danaher and I am the school nurse at North End Elementary. My job is to help keep our students healthy and in class. Healthy students are better learners. Included in my responsibilities are: - Helping students and their families manage chronic illnesses, such as asthma, ADHD, seizures, diabetes and hearing loss.
- Working with the Special Education Department when students have health conditions that are impacting their learning.
- Teaching students life skills, such as basic first aid, handwashing, and good hygiene.
- Screening student's vision and hearing and making referrals as needed.
- Helping families find health insurance or health care providers in the community.
- Adminstering medications or assisting students with health procedures during the school day.
- Promoting wellness issues, such as good nutrition and physical activity, so that North End students develop habits that will help them develop a healthy lifestyle.
If your child has any health concerns, please feel free to leave me a message at 651-293-8795 or email - patricia.danaher@spps.org.
