PHYSICAL EDUCATION
RoadRunner
Welcome to Ms. A's Physical Education page!!

"Of all the subjects taught in school Physical Education is the only subject which, by the very nature of it's content, has the potential to affect how a person will feel every moment of every day for the rest of his or her life."..................Allen Russell

All student's
sport2
at North End have classes in Physical Education, Computer, and Science. Our enrichment schedule rotates, allowing students to spend two weeks at a time engaged in learning in each specialist area.

My philosophy of Physical Education is to create a learning atmosphere that emphasizes wellness, physical fitness, social and emotional growth, and to encourage
sport6
students to lead physically active lifestyles.

In the primary grades, the main emphasis will be on locomotor skills and basic sport skills which include: throwing, catching, striking, and kicking. Beginning fitness concepts and activities are also included.

In the intermediate grades, the continuation of skill acquisition is essential.

The students will play a variety of lead-up games to ensure maximum participation in their skill development. Students will learn rules and basic strategies of team games. Also, students will be involved with a fitness unit that includes fitness activities and testing.
