Our Rose Hair Tarantula-Will you help us name her?
North End has a new science lab located in room 201. We have a light system to grow plants. We have several pets including many fish in tank, a garden  of earthworms, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and a tarantula.
Did you know that tarantulas are less poisonous than a bee sting and NO ONE has ever died from a tarantula bite?

November News: Snickers the female Guinea pig died while giving birth to two babies. We are all saddened by her passing. The good news is that she has two healthy babies who are eating, gaining weight and being taken care of by their dad, Caramel.
We have a salamander staying with us for awhile. It eats things like worms and bugs.

Foss Science for Students   A great place to play games and do activities that are related to what we do in the lab!

Topics by Grade Level
Kindergarten: Students are learning to use scientific tools and make observations. They are learning about light, shadows and kaleidoscopes.
First Grade: Balance and motion are the new topics. We are making and observing things that roll, fly, spin and rotate.
Second Grade: Solids and liquids and gas are the topics for these young scientists. We have also learned a catchy little song.
Third Grade: Rock and roll! It is all about rocks and Earth Science.
Fourth Grade: Magnetism and electricity are the next topics.
Fifth Grade: Magnetism and electricity are the 'current' words of the week! Next time around it will be all about forces, motion, levers and pulleys.
Sixth Grade: We are mixing it up with chemistry. Once we master the 'basics', we will be ready to make candy and apply what we know.
