Principal’s Message for North End Elementary Hamilton E. Bell
As a principal, I could not ask for a better community to work with than North End Elementary. This is my second year at North End, and I am very excited to be a part of the implementation of the new programs and initiatives that we are launching this year. North End now has a Pre-Kindergarten program, Boys and Girls University Academies (same-gender classes) for kindergarten through 3rd grade, and the AVID program geared towards preparing our students for college in 4th through 6th grades. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, and will aid in college preparation and readiness by teaching our students organization and note-taking skills.
Relationships are key to the success of any organization. My personal philosophy is “relationships, relationships, relationships.” This year, North End is going to focus strongly on building relationships with our students’ families. We believe that open communication is vital to developing relationships between our students, their families, and our community. The implementation of student/parent planners, frequent phone calls, and positive postcards will all enhance our communication with our families.
As the principal, my goal for North End is to maintain a learning environment that is safe, nurturing, and equitable for all students. Our learners will receive the best education so as to enable them to meet and exceed the district and state standards. I will do everything possible to make myself available to students and their families whenever there is a need. I will also commit myself to creating and maintaining a caring environment for our future leaders.
